As most of you may recall, Pantone chooses a color that will represent each year. Last year Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, provided the energy boost we needed to recharge and move forward. In 2013, enhance your sense of well-being by inspiring insight as well as promoting balance and harmony. Emerald, a vivid verdant green, is the official color for the new year.
Often associated with brilliant, precious gemstones, Emerald is sophisticated and luxurious. This magnificent hue has been the color of beauty and new life in many cultures and religions. Also the color of growth, renewal and prosperity, no other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chosen green to represent healing and unity.
Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful tone translates easily within home interiors. Mark your calendar because the Saratoga Showcase of Homes returns this September! The showcase celebrates and recognizes Saratoga County’s most exceptional homes built by the finest builders in the Capital Region.
Now in its 17th year, the event will display the latest in building techniques and products for the home. Homeowners can also explore beautiful, high-quality furnishings and fixtures from the area’s top interior designers.
There will be three consecutive weekends to join the showcase tours: September 15th-16th, 22nd-23rd & 29th-30th. The showcase home tour hours are 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Also, be sure not to miss the exciting Chefs “Saratoga Style” at participating showcase homes. These delectable evenings will take place September 14th and 21st!

With the Great Northeast Home Show just one week away, we’re excited to announce that our very own chief cabinet officer, Evan Levey, will be presenting a seminar on kitchen renovations Saturday, February 11th at 12 PM. Evan will be discussing how to outline components of a kitchen renovation from timeline to budget, from environmental concerns to functionality. Attendees will gain an understanding on how the priority of these components play into critical decisions a homeowner needs to make throughout the renovation process.

As many of you may know, Columbia CabinetWorks has been a proud distributor of Wood-Mode and Brookhaven cabinetry since 2004. Over the years, we have taken pride in designing spaces for our clients that introduce comfort, functionality and style into their homes. It recently dawned on me that since I began writing this blog, I never showed you our beautiful main showroom located in North Greenbush, NY. We also have a showroom in the Times Union Center, which I gave you a tour of back in February after the Great Northeast Home Show. For me, our main showroom is comfortable and intimate, showcasing the incredible Wood-Mode product and design talent of CCW. It feels like a second home. My favorite thing about the showroom is how it displays a variety of cabinet options and unique styles that will inspire homeowners for their next renovation.

It’s that time of year again and the Saratoga Builders Association is bringing you the 16th annual Showcase of Homes! Starting September 17th, the Saratoga Builders Association shows off the area’s finest homes built by contractors and designers within the Capital Region. For the next three weekends, you can tour beautiful homes and explore the latest designs in high-quality furnishings and fixtures, as well as the latest building techniques and products. This year, the event will showcase 19 new homes throughout the Saratoga area, including the towns of Greenfield Center, Malta, Moreau, Ballston Spa, Halfmoon and Wilton. I’m super excited for this year’s Saratoga Showcase of Homes to see the area’s design talent, and because I will be one of the judges!
